Ms. Warthen (right) was recognized as the Region 5 June FCPS Cares Recipient of the Month. An informal recognition ceremony was held after school where Ms. LaPlaca presented Ms. Warthen with her award.

Congratulations to custodian Latrena Warthen on being recognized as the June 2019 FCPS Cares Recipient of the Month by the FCPS Department of Human Resources. Congratulations, Ms. Warthen.

Not only do you lead our custodial staff in keeping our building and grounds in top condition, but you also find time to help students who are having discipline issues or who are just struggling. You melted my heart today when I saw you sitting in a classroom working with a student who was having a meltdown and having a hard time getting it together. You are a wonderful role model for our students. We are lucky to have you.
